Honours Study
Honours study in biotechnology offers students the opportunity to work on a research project with any of the MOBT academic staff and/or in any of our participating schools. Students enrol in the Honours course in the School within which the academic staff member is based: either the School of Molecular & Microbial Biosciences, Chemistry or Biological Sciences. Regardless of the host school, students must enrol in the four MOBT honours units of study MOBT40XX (X=11,12,13 and 14).
Generally each School expects students to have achieved a Credit grade or higher in senior units of study. The Faculty of Science also requires that prospective honours students have a Science Weighted Average Mark (SCIWAM*) requirement of at least 65 - more.
As a guide, honours students generally have maintained at least a credit average, and often a distinction average, in their undergraduate units of study. Read about a recent honours graduate here.
